A/Prof Pritinder Kaur
A/Prof Pritinder Kaur is a stem cell biologist with a long-standing interest in the regulation of epithelial tissue renewal, repair and carcinogenesis. While much of her research uses human skin as a model system for epithelial stem cell biology, her recent work has focussed on the role of the tumour microenvironment in inducing malignant ovarian cancer progression.
Dr Kaur received BSc Honors in Cell Biology from the University of London, UK and a PhD from the University of Manchester, UK. After postdoctoral training at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, USA, she moved to Australia in 1990 as a Florey Fellow and has been Lab Head/Group Leader at the Hanson Centre for Cancer Research, Adelaide; the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne; the Hudson Institute for Medical Research, Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne prior to being recruited to Curtin University in Jan 2016. She is a former NHMRC Research Fellow and serves on the Editorial Board of Stem Cells.
